Emotional Changes

One of the most common signs that your teenager may be dealing with anxiety is that they are experiencing emotional changes. This could look like your teenager being on edge or more irritable than they typically would be. While other teenagers will have more subtle signs of their emotional state by showing that they are more nervous about certain tasks than they were in the past. It is important to watch for these emotional changes so that if your teenager is showing signs of anxiety, they can get the help they need.

Changes in Social Interactions

Another way that anxiety is manifested in teens, is that it affects the way that they socially interact with others. This may appear in your teenager as a loss of interest in spending time with their friends. It can also be manifested in a way where they lose all interest in participating in hobbies that they were at one point passionate about. If you notice that your teenager wants to spend more time alone, and away from other people, this may be a sign that they are suffering from anxiety.

Changes in Their Physical State

When you notice changes in the physical habits of your teenager, this may be a sign that they are experiencing anxiety in their life. This may look like headaches or stomach aches that are constantly coming back. This may be a sign of constant worrying or feeling anxious about their situation.

Anxiety also shows itself through changes in appetite. When a teenager is suffering from anxiety, there may be a loss of appetite. This loss of appetite will result in weight loss and weakness. Conversely, feelings of anxiousness can cause other teenagers to overeat and gain weight. These are tell-tale signs that there is something going on in your teens life that they may need help with.
